Who We Are

We are a faith-based Learning Center.

We offer full-time, quality child care from 6:30 AM until 6:00 PM Monday through Friday. We are affiliated with Westover Hills Church and located on the far west side of San Antonio.

Vision

Our mission at Westover Learning Center is to provide quality care and enriching experiences for children in a warm, Christ-centered environment.

Philosophy

We believe:

  • Early childhood experiences provide the foundation for one’s lifetime. Westover Learning Center provides experiences that promote the social, emotional, physical, intellectual and spiritual development of each child.
  • Each child is unique. Westover Learning Center provides for individual needs and individual differences.
  • Children’s self-perceptions are influenced by the attitudes of significant others in their lives. Westover Learning Center provides a positive Christian environment in which to grow.
  • Children learn about their environment through direct and concrete experiences. Westover Learning Center provides opportunities for discovery, exploration and experimentation.

Curriculum

At Westover Learning Center we implement Frog Street Press Curriculum.

Frog Street offers specific curriculum for every age and every stage of development from birth to age 5. We understand that as children grow, their needs change. Frog Street programs offer developmental and learning continuums that allow children to build on previously mastered skills to more readily achieve new skills in a seamless and continuous way. Frog Street addresses the cognitive, language, literacy, physical, and social-emotional developmental domains of each child. We have incorporated content from Conscious Discipline strategies for social-emotional development. In addition, we help prepare a child for kindergarten and beyond with STEAM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Art and Math) content and resources. Westover Learning Center provides Spanish class and chapel to enrich the program Spanish class opens children’s minds earlier to explore different cultures. Chapel

We teach children about God through prayer, Bible stories and praise songs.

A child is never too young to hear about creation, about God’s love, about Jesus and about the many wonderful stories the Bible holds. Every story helps us to get to know what God is like, what we are like and the way God wants us to live.
